The Transforming Power of God’s Word: Why Biblical Education Matters
Introduction
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). This command from Scripture highlights the importance of diligently studying God’s Word. As believers, our growth in faith, understanding, and service to the Lord hinges on our commitment to biblical education. Through study, we are equipped to walk in obedience, share the Gospel effectively, and live lives that glorify God.
At King James Bible College, we are passionate about providing believers with the tools they need to deepen their knowledge of the Scriptures. Our programs are rooted in the King James Bible, ensuring that students have a strong foundation for their spiritual journey. This commitment extends to our Prison Ministry, where lives are being transformed through the power of God’s Word.
The Necessity of Knowing God’s Word
The Bible warns, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6). Without a solid understanding of Scripture, believers are vulnerable to false teachings and spiritual stagnation. Jesus Himself emphasized the power of knowing the truth, saying, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32). Biblical education is not merely an academic pursuit; it is a spiritual discipline that leads to freedom, strength, and transformation.
The Apostle Paul exhorted Timothy to “preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine” (2 Timothy 4:2). To fulfill this calling, one must be firmly rooted in the Word of God. This is why biblical education matters—it prepares us to live out our faith and to minister effectively to others.
How Biblical Study Transforms Lives
Throughout Scripture, we see how the Word of God transforms lives. Consider the Apostle Paul, who was once a persecutor of Christians. After his encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus, Paul became one of the greatest teachers and preachers of the Gospel (Acts 9:1-22). His transformation was rooted in his deep study and understanding of the Scriptures.
David, the psalmist, found strength and guidance in God’s Word. He wrote, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path” (Psalm 119:105). The Bible is not only a guide for our daily lives but also a source of comfort, encouragement, and hope.
In our Prison Ministry, we witness firsthand how studying the Bible changes lives. Inmates who once lived without hope are now discovering their identity in Christ and growing in faith through their studies. By providing them with lessons, quizzes, and certificates, we are equipping them to walk in the truth and share it with others.
The Role of King James Bible College
King James Bible College exists to make biblical education accessible to all. Our programs are designed to help students grow in their understanding of Scripture, whether they are pursuing a degree or simply seeking to deepen their personal study. With the King James Bible as our foundation, we ensure that every lesson is faithful to God’s inspired Word.
Our Prison Ministry is an extension of this mission. Inmates are provided with paperback KJV Bibles, lessons, and encouragement to complete their studies. Upon finishing the Old and New Testament lessons, they receive certificates suitable for framing. Those who complete the coursework for the Bachelor’s program are awarded a printed degree. These tangible achievements reflect their dedication to learning and their growth in Christ.
