The Certificate in Old Testament Studies at King James Bible College is designed to provide students with a broad and structured study of the Old Testament Scriptures. Through individual courses, students will explore the books, people, events, history, doctrines, prophecies, and practical truths found throughout the Old Testament while developing a deeper understanding of God’s Word.

From Genesis through Malachi, students will study God’s dealings with mankind, the history of Israel, the giving of the Law, the lives of important Old Testament figures, the wisdom and poetic books, and the messages of the prophets. These studies also help students better understand the foundation that the Old Testament provides for many of the doctrines and truths revealed throughout the New Testament.

Part of the Bachelor’s in Biblical Studies Program

The Certificate in Old Testament Studies is earned as students complete the required Old Testament courses that are part of our Bachelor’s in Biblical Studies program.

This means students are not completing a separate group of courses that will later need to be repeated. The courses completed toward the Old Testament Studies Certificate also count toward the requirements of the Bachelor’s in Biblical Studies degree.

Upon successfully completing all of the required Old Testament courses, students will be eligible to receive their Certificate in Old Testament Studies and may continue working toward completion of their Bachelor’s degree.

Course Availability

We are continuing to develop and release the remaining courses within our Bachelor’s in Biblical Studies program. Because of this, some of the courses required for the Certificate in Old Testament Studies may not yet be available in the regular online interactive format.

As additional courses are completed, they will be added to the program. Students may also use our Assessment-Only Program for qualifying courses that are available there, allowing them to continue progressing toward their certificate and degree requirements.

All biblical instruction and Scripture quotations are based exclusively upon the King James Version (KJV).
